Carpe Diem

By Sabrina Samone, TMP

As for as LGBT and our allies in South Carolina are concerned, we are at a delicate turning point where change is just around the corner, but we must reach out our hands and cease the moment. Carpe Diem, seize the day my friends, seize your moments for equality.

At this moment a new rising democratic leader for the people of South Carolina could make history by breaking the republican good old boy system in South Carolina , that's been in place for far too long. As of today new polls show Colbert and Sanford are unbelievably tied despite his record of lies and misuse of the public's trust and taxpayer money. The Republican's Party Machine is working overtime to flood the air waves with their usual Nazi style propaganda, but we can stop them. Join me and others this weekend that are volunteering an hour or more, to make change happen.

Also, SC Equality this week was proud to announce that South Carolina is in the process of hearing Anti-LGBT legislation. Your help is needed, whether you are LGBT, a family member, a friend, co-worker or a neighbor of someone that is, your local legislators need to know you support the Workplace Fairness Act (H4025). Contact SC Equality and follow the steps to finding the info you need to contact your local legislator.

Take Action Now! We Need Co-sponsors!

A rare moment for the LGBT community of South Carolina is here, Carpe Diem. Seize the day.

BREAKING: NEW POLL SHOWS SOUTH CAROLINA SPECIAL TIED 46%-46% WITH 5 DAYS TO GO
Friends -- You’re not going to like these numbers:

We’re 5 days out from the South Carolina special election and Mark Sanford and Elizabeth Colbert Busch are all tied up at 46%. Sanford and his allies are mobilizing their base in a big way. We need to step up.

If we still want to win this thing, we need to make sure every voter, every friend, and every neighbor knows what Elizabeth is fighting for – and that means creating the best Get Out The Vote effort in South Carolina history.

URGENT: Right now, we have 17 volunteer shifts we have to fill immediately. Can we count on you?
Yes, I can volunteer on Friday (tomorrow)

Yes, I can volunteer on Saturday

Yes, I can volunteer on Sunday

Yes, I can volunteer on Monday

Yes, I can volunteer on Tuesday (Election Day)
The next few days are the most critical days of this election – Election Day in South Carolina’s 1st district is THIS TUESDAY. In special elections like this, it’s critical that we reach every voter we can and remind them that they need to get out and vote.

We need as many people out there fighting for Elizabeth as we can get. Never volunteered before? Don’t worry! It’s easy, fun, and you’ll make a huge difference.

Sign up to knock on doors and make calls to help us win on Tuesday.

Let’s go.
